Builtrix is selected for a large scale pilot project with Roma Capitale to uncover energy saving opportunities & reduce carbon footprint in municipality buildings
Builtrix will help Roma Capitale (RC) to overcome their challenges with energy monitoring, benchmarking, and forecasting with the aim to detect anomalies and support municipality energy managers to foster the implementation of the right actions for performance improvement and carbon footprint reduction. Builtrix will develop a solution for RC that can automatically analyze big data coming from energy meters. This solution includes benchmarking tools for energy consumption & performance in municipality buildings, energy prediction, and ultimately to help RC to develop Energy communities using renewable sources. Builtrix solution will be a plug-n-play solution for PLATOON energy big data analytical toolbox for optimized real-time energy system management in a simple way for the energy domain expert.
RC owns more than 2000 buildings, mainly schools and offices as well as 70 sport facilities and 800 residential buildings with 27000 apartments. Most of these assets need energy efficiency audits and interventions. All tertiary buildings owned by RC are equipped with a remote control system within a performance contract addressed to heating, cooling and comfort management. It includes 6500 electricity meters, 700000 heat plant efficiency indicators and 160 of its buildings are served by photovoltaic (PV) plants ranging from 3kW to 60kW. The annual energy costs of RC reaches up to 32 M Euro.
This large scale pilot project, which started from July 2021 and will last until April 2022, is part of the PLATOON project. Builtrix is the only Portuguese company that was selected, out of more than 100 applicants, to extend the PLATOON offering with the energy big data analytic toolbox. In addition to receiving € 150,000 funding, Builtrix is invited to participate in the first technology transfer program, a nine-month technical and commercial support initiative that started in July 2021.
